Healthy Kitchens, Healthy Lives® Conference

The Teaching Kitchen Collaborative evolved out of the Healthy Kitchens, Healthy Lives® continuing medical education conference for health professionals that started in 2006 to bridge nutrition science, healthcare, and the culinary arts.

During this three-day conference at The Culinary Institute of America’s Greystone campus in Napa Valley, CA, faculty members from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and other leading experts present the state-of-the-science on diet, nutrition, exercise, mindfulness, and health coaching. These experts are joined by world-class culinary educators to lead demonstrations and hands-on teaching sessions for healthcare professionals who want to learn about the translation of nutrition and self-care related science into practical advice regarding healthy food selection, purchase, and preparation. Conference attendees not only are exposed to the latest systematic reviews of nutrition science, they also taste, prepare, and learn to teach others to enjoy a broad selection of foods that can reduce disease risk and, ideally, replace unhealthy habits.

The launch of the TKC was announced to HKHL participants in 2016 and the goal is to continually update the HKHL conference content to more closely highlight the work of the TKC and its members.
